Program Description
Fearless Fridays is a 7 week nature immersion program for Kindergarten-2nd graders. Each mini-adventure aims to increase your child's weekly time outside, develop a sense of place in their local woodlands, tap into sensory exploration, ignite curiosity & wonder, and have fun with hands on learning! Grades K-2 on Fridays 4:00-5:30 3/27, 4/3,4/10, 4/17, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15 PROGRAM OUTLINE Every Friday we'll spend 90 mins exploring a different NA trail. For example: Rea's Pond, Osgood Hill, Boston Hill, Den Rock Park, Rolling Ridge, Half Mile Hill... Each week parents receive an email with the location and directions to the meeting spot. Activities may include: -exploring streams and lake Cochichewick -mud play -salamander hunts -building forts and animal houses -crafting nature boats -mixing and sculpting with natural clay -bug hunts -scavenger hunts -storywalks -nature journaling The interests and curiosities of the group, along with weekly weather, drive our plan for each week. While I have a general for each week, by allowing the kids freedom to explore and decide what excites them... that's how true enchantment, wonder and love of nature will bloom! When deciding if this program is right for your child, please consider: *this is an active program *ability to walk 1.5 miles is necessary *kids are outside for 90min in spring weather - rain/mud gear needed *no bathrooms *ability to FOLLOW DIRECTIONS / BEHAVE cooperatively / execute SELF CONTROL are necessary for group safety *Please read the Code of Conduct expectations on the Policy Page before registering *Any child not able to conduct their behavior to meet the expectations, will be asked to leave the program for the safety of the entire group
