Program Description
Homeschool Adventures is a 6 week nature immersion program for 6, 7, 8 & 9 year old girls and boys. Each mini-adventure aims to: ~ increase your child's weekly time outside ~ build awarness and deeper relationship with the natural world ~ allow for hands-on learning in nature ~ ignite curiosity & wonder ~ tune into sesnory experiences PROGRAM OUTLINE Thursdays 9/12 - 10/17 9:30am -11:00am Each week we'll spend 90 mins exploring a new North Andover location. For example: Half Mile Hill, Osgood Hill, Weir Hill, Rolling Ridge, Rea's Pond, etc. Parents receive a weekly email with location and directions to the upcoming meeting spot. Classes WILL be held in a light rain. In the event of severe or soaking weather, classes will be postponed and added to the end of the session. Activities may include: -exploring streams - painting with mud -building forts and animal houses -crafting nature boats -mixing and sculpting with natural clay -bug hunts -scavenger hunts -storywalks -nature journaling The interests and curiosities of the group, along with weather and trail conditions, drive our plan for each week. Nature's Pace believes in the philosophy of child-led play. By allowing freedom to explore and create, a childs' imagination and sense of wonder can soar! PLEASE CONSIDER BEFORE BOOKING: *this is an active program *ability to walk 1 mile is necessary *kids are outside for 90min in fall weather - hot/humid/rain/mud/damp *ability to FOLLOW DIRECTIONS / BEHAVE cooperatively / execute SELF CONTROL are necessary for group safety *Please read the Code of Conduct expectations on the Policy Page before registering *Any child not able to conduct their behavior to meet the expectations, will be asked to leave the program for the safety of the entire group
