Playful trail games, activities and adventures help to build creativity, self compassion, positive mindsets and confidence. Being in the woods changes the chemical make-up in our minds, naturally giving us a boost in all of these areas! This is one BIG reason why time outside is so important for teens! What unfolds each week will largely be determined by the girls' interests, ideas and curiosities, as well as weather conditions. Parents receive a weekly email with the upcoming location, trail plan, and suggested clothing. Please note that snowgear will be recommended - ie boots and snow pants. Our locations will vary weekly around North Andover and may include: Half Mile Hill, Weir Hill, Rolling Ridge, Stevens Estate, Osgood Hill Trail, etc. ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE vine swinging sledding snowmen building and painting trail games (roving hide n seek; extreme close up; scavenger hunts) building snow lanterns exploring frozen Lake Cochichewick (only if conditions are safe!!) how to build a build a warming fire (potentially) outdoor cooking beginner winter foraging... ...once our groups meets and starts brainstorming, the list will get longer! WHEN DECIDING IF THIS PROGRAM IS RIGHT FOR YOUR CHILD, PLEASE CONSIDER... -this is an active program - covering 1-1.5 miles per outing -we are outside for 90 mins in Jan/Feb temps and weather -warm clothing, boots and snow gear will be needed -ability to follow directions / behave cooperatively / execute self control are necessary for group safety (please read Code of Conduct before registering -classes will be postponed if the weather is severe and not safe
